Spring in Vancouver...
It's my favourite time of year... the time of year when winter seems to dissolve right in front of your eyes. The occasional morning frost, or dusting of snow melts away revealing the first signs of spring. The crocus' are blooming already and the tulips are growing steadily. There is a tree with pink blossoms leading the way for all the cherry trees on the street. Spring is hopeful, new and exciting. It's both predictable and surprising. And... if I'm honest, it distracts me to no end as I search for signs that winter is steadily being taken over by the longer, brighter days of spring!

I absolutely admire...
the ability so many people have to whole heartedly pursue a single career direction in life. It makes sense. It's impressive. I wish I had more of that in me, but I am not in the least disappointed by the adventures and experiences that have occurred in my life. Yep, it's been fun and I am sure it will continue to be so in the days, weeks and months ahead. But, I also look forward to a little more stability in my life... ah yes, sweet stability....

all my career dreams came true in a grade 6 classroom
I don't think this is normal, but I have recently developed a fanatical love for politics. There is something so appealing about being involved in the decisions that influence the world around us. The decisions that transform our freedoms, finances, and health realities... among so many other things. So back to grade 6... I was volunteering in a classroom today and they had a local Member of Parliament speaking to them about his role in government, and encouraging the kids to get involved in politics... I felt like he was speaking to me! Maybe it was the grade 6 level of communication I connected with, but more likely it was simply the opportunity to learn more about what goes on within Canada and between Canada and the world... its fascinating and inspiring... if only I could go back to grade 6 and redirect my career path... I would have made it my goal to be Prime Minister!

blue collar working
I'm wrestling with the news that I have to purchase steel toe boots and a hard had for the job site we'll soon be working on. I joke that I am simply beautifying the blue collar industry, but at the end of the day, when I arrive home to see the mess that has become of me, its sometimes quite difficult to believe its true. Still, there is something about a good hard day of work that I enjoy... its both satisfying and challenging... but steel toe's and hard hats... seems like one big step in a direction I'm not ready to take...
