The sights and sounds of Waterloo and its surrounding area continue to shock and delight me... life is simpler here, especially when you leave town and head for the country! The rolling little hills are bare except for a few forested areas and little farm homes dotting the countryside. Yesterday when we were heading out of town we passed a family bumping down the street in a horse drawn buggy, and while I nearly fell over from surprise, people here say its pretty typical-but really!!??! And when I tell people I'm Mennonite and they find out my last name is Martin, they assume I'm the horse and buggy type of Mennonite... the last name Martin is English everywhere in the world but here apparently!

Yesterday was a phenomenally beautiful day! The sun was out, the sky was blue and if felt like spring was in the air as the snow is almost totally gone! I've been told not to be fooled by this burst of spring weather and keep my boots and winter jacket handy! And, truth be told, its still rather cold out... but nothing as bad as those days I realized the rock in my shoe was my frozen toe! In my walk through the small town I came across a building only I would love... and lucky for everyone... I have learned how to upload photos and so you can love these buildings too!

And Great news... We found and apartment and we move in 2 weeks from now! Its a super cute and tiny 9th floor corner apartment in an almost brand new building! Jami and I have friends in the building already, so that will be fun and I get to cut the bus to school out of my life, as its only a 20 minute walk to school! You really can't ask for anything better than we found... I'm so excited to move in there! And, people have been absolutely generous in lending and giving us stuff to furnish our little place! All we need to do is find some stuff for our little kitchen!
