30 post by 30?

Does anyone else find that their best ideas come at the oddest moments?  I pretty sure my best thinking happens while I am driving or washing my hair...

I wish those moments of pure brilliance would happen more often, it would have made school last semester a little less tedious and...

more recently....

it would have made the mad dash from a distant part of the snow shoe trail, to the parking lot a whole lot less hectic.  I read my analog clock wrong... giving us a rather impressive feeling of accomplishment over the distance we snowshoed in a very short time... and leaving us in search of a new viewpoint of the Vancouver city lights, when every other person was heading back for the parking lot.

Thankfully, my ability to read people is a teeny bit better than my ability to tell time. The odd looks from the people heading in the opposite direction from us, the man who stopped dead in his tracks (not literally) only to stare at us like we were crazy... well those replayed in my mind for a while until I decided I should double check the time. It was 10 pm. I was a very critical hour off from reality, and so we began our  version of a snowshoeing race against time in hopes that we would make it out of the park before they locked the gates or towed our car.

We made great time for those last 3.5 km winding our way through the dark path to the parking lot (we at least hoped that was where we were heading) and were relieved to find at least 3 other cars still up there. I always wondered about those people who began a hike or a snowshoe prepared for emergency, but I guess there is something smart about that.  Spending the night on the mountain simply did not seem incredibly appealing.

This was one of those moments that I wished no one else would find out about, but really, where is the fun in that!?!

well, 29 posts left now before I turn 30... here's hoping being 30 will be as much fun as 29!
